TEHRAN- Production of sponge iron in Iran has risen 27 percent during the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2018 - January 20, 2019) compared to the same period of time in the previous year, IRNA reported on Saturday.

As reported, production of sponge iron exceeded 21 million tons in the mentioned ten-month period of this year.

Also, sponge iron output in the tenth Iranian calendar month of Dey (December 22, 2018- January 20, 2019) stood at 2.145 million tons which is 29 percent higher than the figure of the same month in the past year.
